Our Approach

Fascia-informed education that connects research, learning, and practice.

Discover What Connects Us

At Fascia Informed, we believe curiosity is one of the most powerful tools in healthcare. Our purpose is simple and profound:

To inspire curiosity and elevate understanding of fascia-targeting therapy through education that is both evidence-informed and personally transformative.

Founded by Amy Mayer OTD, OTR/L, RYT who discovered how well fascia-focused treatment strategies helped patients reduce, manage, and often eliminate pain, she began teaching students and other practitioners so they can experience the joy and satisfaction of assisting their patients in achieving their goals.  What began as an exploration into fascia quickly became a movement toward meaningful learning, fascia-integrated care, and empowered practitioners.

Rather than teaching rigid techniques, we offer a perspective.

A fascia-informed lens helps practitioners see beyond isolated symptoms and understand the body as a connected, adaptive system, shaped by movement, emotion, and experience.

Our Brand Promise

We empower occupational therapists and healthcare professionals in developing a fascia-informed perspective that connects current science, clinical experience, and hands on application.  Through evidence-based education and practical training, clinicians gain deeper insight into the fascial system and its role in movement, function, and health, helping transform how they assess, understand, and support patient outcomes.

Our Philosophy

We Believe:

Fascia Informed bridges science and story, evidence and empathy, helping professionals confidently guide conversations about fascia, pain, posture, movement, and self-care.

About Amy

Amy is an occupational therapist, author, educator, and fascia-informed practitioner with decades of experience helping individuals reduce pain and improve function through movement, posture, and fascia-informed care. Early in her career, she was introduced to myofascial release as a non-medication approach to pain management and quickly saw how combining fascia-targeting techniques with occupational therapy could create lasting change.

She has completed more than 200 hours of John F. Barnes Myofascial Release® training and continues to integrate emerging fascia-based approaches and research with clinical practice. Amy holds a doctorate in occupational therapy and is certified in yoga, holistic stress management, and natural movement, with expertise in posture, alignment, and everyday movement.

In addition to leading Fascia Informed Continuing Education and her clinical practice at Mayer Fascia Wellness, Amy taught occupational therapy students at Creighton University for 19 years. Today, she is passionate about empowering both patients and practitioners through evidence-informed, human-centered education that inspires curiosity and transforms care.
