Fascia- Informed Professional DevelopMENT

Translating fascia science into action.

Hi, I’m Amy, your partner on this exciting journey to becoming fascia-informed and reenergizing your practice.

As a new graduate, I was taught myofascial techniques by a senior colleague. I was taught to apply them to clients who had pain prior to my OT sessions. This experience confused me since the fascia was something we threw away during our dissection lab, and we were not taught anything about its relevance to our practice. The results I was getting astounded me and set me on a 30-year journey seeking out the research, learning about fascia, and evolving my skills.

The research is pouring out, and healthcare must catch up! I have so much to share about the new science of the fascia and also how to apply it!

I’ve been educating adult learners for nearly three decades, and I apply all the science and techniques I teach in my courses with my clients every single day.

Let us translate decades of fascia research for you and your practice.

Pain is one of the primary reasons clients refuse therapy. Pain slows progress towards goals.
Some clients can’t take or don’t want to take pain medications. Pain is a huge problem!

My clients love having the ability to use these techniques and be less reliant on medications and be less reliant on me.

You can use these techniques in any setting and with almost any client. Many of the techniques can be done standing, sitting, or in bed.

Evaluating and Treating Clients with TMJ Dysfunction for Occupational Therapy Practitioners

Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction (TMD) affects over 80 million adults and over 8 million children in the United States. We need more practitioners who can treat this often-debilitating condition.

The occupations of eating, talking, laughing, intimacy, and more that TMD directly affects are some of our most valued and repetitive activities of daily living. When they are limited from TMD, this can result in a decline in physical and mental health for all ages.
